Creating a Rule to delete spam in Outlook Express
Mail is
scanned for spam by Eccentrix Wireless, if it detected to be spam the subject
line is marked, and sent to the user. As
a user, you can choose to have this email automatically deleted off your
machine before you look at it. Eccentrix
Wireless does not take any responsibility for email that is marked as spam and
deleted by the customer.
We have three different tagging options that you can choose
to filter.
·
{Definitely Spam?} – These messages are most likely
spam and have triggered the spam filters with high marks
·
{Spam?} – These messages were triggered by the spam
filters as spam, but are probably worth reviewing.
·
{Disarmed} – These messages have links that could
possibly try and identify you. These
could possibly be legitimate emails (banks, online accounts, etc.)
Follow these rules to filter messages for Outlook Express
·
Open Outlook Express
·
Click on Tools -> Message Rules -> Mail…
·
Check “Where the Subject line contains specific words”
in box 1 and select “Delete it” in box 2.
You can give the rule any name you wish.
·

·
Click “contains specific words” in box 3 and type in the
phrases you want to filter. In the
following picture, we are going to just choose to filter {Definitely Spam?}
although you could also add {Spam?} and {Disarmed} if you were sure you wanted
to delete those as well.

·
Click OK for all three remaining dialogs to save the
rule.
